1. Store Period Performanceю
Use Store Performance to record actual units and costs and earn value metrics in reporting periods that you define. The reporting cycle can be weekly, biweekly, monthly or any period you define. The resulting data is useful for billing and analyzing project performance. For example, an activity is scheduled for six weeks at a cost of $10,000 per week for a total of $60,000.
The activity's actual units and costs were updated weekly. When the activity ended total actual cost was $90,000. Looking at the data we only know that an issue or perhaps multiple issues occurred at some point during the six weeks, causing the activity to run over budget.
With Stored Performance, you can capture and analyze the performance data from each week to learn more about where the issues occurred. Perhaps the activity was improperly planned and each of the six weeks ran over budget. Perhaps an event occured that caused a spike in cost for one particular week or maybe the activity started on track and then an issue occurred halfway through, causing each of the last three weeks to run over budget.
2. Store Periods Performance setupю
Get started on the activities page and schedule. Run the Store period Performance setup. First, Select the Reporting Cycle. This determines how often data will be captured. For example, every week. Reporting cycles are defined in the workspace summary and settings.
Next, select the baseline for calculating earned value metrics. Complete the setup. Project costs are automatically recalculated, to calculate the Initial Budget, At Completion values from the baseline. Enter status updates for the first week of the schedule. Reschedule the project. And Recalculate costs to ensure the earned value metrics are up to date.
3. Run Store Period Performance.
Run Store Period Performance to record data for the reporting cycle. Repeat to record data for subsequent weeks. As the project progresses, use the Stored Performance detail window to analyze activity performance. Here, actual costs for the first three weeks of the selected activity are displayed. For some fields such as earned value cost, view the rolling total alongside the value for each period. Use the project usage layout to analyze each resource's performance
