When a budget plan moves into the execution phase, use the Spending page to track actual costs against the approved budget.
1. Use the Cash Flow page to enter actuals.
The project manager uses the Cash Flow page to enter actuals for each project. These costs are rolled up and displayed on the Spending page.
The top half of the page is graphical representation of financial data for the budget plan.
2. Select cost fields to display.
Use settings to select which cost fields to display on the graph. Use the Financial Breakdown section to analyze detailed time-phased cost data
3. View cost values by planning horizon.
View cost values by planning horizon or a specific year or compare it to historical values from a snapshot. When viewing the data by planning horizon, select a year to view summary costs for all the projects.
4. View a project's actuals/forecast.
If a project's actuals/forecast are greater than its approved budget, change the view to a specific year to focus when those costs started to change.

Click on the month to see which projects exceeded the budget. In this example, two projects' costs are more than what was forecasted or approved. Use the flag to note the projects for further investigation.
5. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders.
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to decide how to proceed with projects that are over budget. If necessary, use revised plan to create a new plan. The current approved plan will remain in place until a new one is approved.
