LESSON 5-3: Checking Schedule Health

1. Schedule health check.
A reliable schedule is essential to a successful project. Schedule health check enables you to evaluate the quality of your schedule based on industry wide best practices, identify potential problems, and consider ways to correct them. Set up the health check in your project's summary and settings.

2. Set up the health check.
Select the guidelines you want to check your schedule against. Each guideline displays a type, target percentage, and a weighting value that is used to calculate an overall schedule health score. Each guideline also displays a description or reason for the guideline. Many also provide suggestions for correcting related issues in your schedule.

3. View your schedule's overall score and make changes to improve it.
The health check runs in the background each time you save the schedule on the activities page. Click the Schedule health score icon to view your schedule's overall score. Scores for each guideline are displayed as well. When you click a guideline, related activities are displayed. Click an activity to view it in the schedule. Keep the health check panel open while you make changes to your schedule. And watch the score improve.
