1. Timesheets.
Use Timesheets to enable team members to report hours worked on project activities. To begin, a resource must be associated with the team member's user account. This is set at the Resource level where a timesheet approver is also selected. The resource is then assigned to activities in the project.
2. Timesheet settings.
In the Project settings, select a timesheets supervisor. This user can submit timesheets on behalf of other team members. Also decide if you would like timesheet hours to update the actual units on resource assignments. Next, access Timesheets from the User menu. In the Timesheet settings, ensure timesheet periods have been created for the desired time frame.
3. Submit Timesheets.
Timesheets are typically submitted on a weekly basis. If periods are needed, confirm the frequency. Select start and end dates, and click Create. Using the My Timesheets view, the team member can create a timesheet for an available timesheet period, report hours worked on assigned activities, and submit for approval.
4. Approve Timesheets.
The approver uses the employee timesheets view to approve the timesheet. The timesheet hours are reported against the assignment, and if the project setting is selected, update its actual units. [MUSIC PLAYING]
